With just over eight weeks to go to The Greats 2019 Awards – which take place on Wednesday May 15 at London’s Grosvenor House on Park Lane – GiftsandHome.net put Thomas O’Brien, managing director of Boxer Gifts, sponsors of the Best Non-Specialist Retailer of Gifts category, into the hot seat.
What does it mean to you as a company to be sponsoring a Greats award this year?
“Here at Boxer, we love to get involved in events, such as the Greats Awards, to celebrate the gift retailing industry. With hard times falling on the retail industry recently, we feel it is important to celebrate the achievements and resilience of those gift retailers defying all the odds and continuing to succeed,” Thomas explains. “Seeing the collectiveness of the industry at such events brings joy to us here at Boxer – a smile on their faces is a smile on ours. Events like The Greats helps us to ‘slay the mundane’and make gift retailing how it was intended to be – fun. It’s what our business is all about.”
Can you tell us a ‘great’ thing that’s happening at Boxer at the moment?
“Many great things are happening at Boxer Funquarters this year, especially the launch of our brand new trade website,” Thomas highlights. “We are in the process of releasing plenty of new, fun and innovative gifts, including our knitting and golf mugs, desk signs, paper straws and our popular Chatterwall range. We will continue to ‘slay the mundane’ and keep the gifting industry thriving. Fun is our business and we work hard to continue to make business fun!”
