As the leading distributor of seasonal, decorative products in the UK, Premier Decorations made its debut at Christmasworld in Frankfurt earlier this week. GiftsandHome.net spoke to national sales manager Rolf Hunt to find out what the attraction was, and what gave the company its point of difference.

What made Premier Decorations decide to exhibit at Christmasworld this year?

“As the largest Christmas decorations company in the UK, part of our growth strategy has been to take on an export manager, with Mark Hartshorn recently tasked to explore an expansion programme. Our objective at Christmasworld was therefore to showcase what we do, with a view to inviting interested buyers to come to the UK and visit our showrooms. As a UK company, we offer something different with appeal to an international market.”

For Premier, what was trending at the show?

“The company is very big in Christmas lighting, with our Microbright pinwire lighting growing another part of the market for us. In fact, we’ve recently expanded the range and introduced new packaging. Also, our Flickerbright candles have been a huge success. Additionally, we showcased our eight colour themes for Christmas 2019/2020.”

What else do you think gave you a point of difference at Christmasworld?

“Our artificial Christmas trees really stood out in a sea of green. For example, we offer colours such as grey and snowy white, and it’s that point of difference that we wanted to showcase to international buyers.”

Was the show successful for you?

“Definitely. We saw a good cross-section of buyers – retailers that we would not otherwise have met. Christmasworld gave us an opportunity to reach out to new retailers and grow our overseas customer base. We had a significant number of leads, and we learned a lot from our debut at the show.”
