With the festive season on its way, GiftsandHome.net asked Sarah Crees, gift & Christmas buyer at Garsons, what will be driving business at the company’s garden centres in the run up to Christmas
What have you chosen as your theme for Christmas 2019?
“This year we have seven full Christmas colourways with an overall theme based around ballets. This is being highlighted through our in store displays and PoS, with our display teams aiming to surprise our customers each year with their creations.”
How did you approach your sourcing?
“Our aim has been to offer something for everyone throughout the gift, toy and Christmas departments, to include. well-loved leading brands, as well as sourcing products that can’t be found on the high street or in department stores from newer or smaller suppliers. This year we also tried to include more UK made and environmentally friendly lines and ranges.”
Have you started putting products out on the shelves?
“Yes. They started to go out on the shop floor in early September. The build and displays will be completed shortly.”
How will you be telling customers about what’s in store for the festive season?
“We will be sending out a 32 page Christmas brochure to our card members at the end of October highlighting key gift, toy and Christmas lines, along with promotions and invites to our two shopping evenings in November.”
