A ‘First’ In Giftable, Eco-friendly, Re-usable Travel Mugs

With an increasing number of gift shops – to include Papyrus in Glasgow, Romantica in Bristol and England at Home in Brighton – confirming that re-usable coffee cups and re-usable travel cups, are this year’s winners, Half Moon Bay has confirmed that the company will be the first to launch a brand new collaboration with eco-friendly coffee cup brand Huskup, with product scheduled to land in September.

Having launched a successful partnership earlier this year distributing Huskup’s 12 original designs, this time around, Half Moon Bay has combined Huskup’s technology with their best-selling Harry Potter license. The four designs showcase iconic Harry Potter artwork that includes Dobby as well as the Marauder’s Map. The reusable travel mugs, which are made out of rice husk, feature its natural colour showing through. Each cup is presented in a Forestry Managed stock gift box and finished with a recyclable silicone lid and sleeve.

“With a current focus on reducing plastic, and the move to reusable travel mugs and coffee cups, this range is bound to be hugely successful for gift shops, outdoor shops, department stores, garden centres, coffee shops, Harry Potter shops…the list goes on!” enthuses Half Moon Bay’s marketing co-ordinator Emily Moores.

Adds Richard Milton, owner of Huskups: “I’m excited to be working with such a loved franchise and it will be great to see Harry Potter fans getting involved in saving the world too. Being the first to put Harry Potter designs on an eco-friendly reusable coffee cup is really exciting and innovative.”

The rice husk combines the usually burnt bi-product of rice milling with a natural starch to create a strong, resilient material which prevents tonnes of waste going to landfill. Not only do the reusable travel mugs have the ability to diminish the need for hard-to-recycle single use coffee cups, they also outshine reusable plastic and bamboo cups, say the company. They are 100% biodegradable, plastic and BPA free, as well as dishwasher and microwave safe, making them good for the environment and good for users.
