British Library Reveals New Giftware Range

The British Library is to launch a new collection of gift-led fashion accessories, homewares and stationery.

Developed by its in-house buying team, together with selected design partners, designs have been inspired by Alice in Wonderland, the classic library card, authors such as Thomas Jefferson and Ernest Hemingway, plus the famous building itself.

According to The Bookseller, merchandise will include tote bags, socks, coasters and notebooks all featuring a nostalgic design of a traditional stamped library card.

There will also be a collection celebrating the Bloomsbury Group – illustrated by design studio LucyLovesThis – plus stationery featuring quotes from authors such as Albert Einstein, Thomas Jefferson and Ernest Hemingway.

A special Alice in Wonderland collection of accessories and homeware will feature hand drawn motifs inspired by the character’s adventures, designed exclusively for the British Library by illustrator Lucy Depardieu.

In addition, a further range will celebrate the British Library’s Grade I listed status, The Bookseller confirmed.
