Santoro Invests In A ‘First’ For The Company

Santoro, winner of a Queen’s Award for Enterprise, International Trade in 2018, has taken the decision to invest in a dedicated sales force. Despite Santoro’s gifts, cards and brands having a presence in 93 countries, at present, the company does not have a field sales team serving UK retailers.

This decision follows the appointment of Chris Houfe (the former sales director of GBCC) who joined the company earlier this month in the newly created position of sales manager.

“Chris joining is integral to our renewed approach to better serving the UK market,” Meera Santoro, co-founder of Wimbledon-based Santoro told GiftsandHome.net.

“Given the expansion of our already huge product portfolio into Christmas and other occasions, the time is right. You could say that it is the start of our rest of our business life,” adds Meera.

Despite only having joined on April 8, Chris Houfe has wasted no time in working with Meera, and her husband and business partner Lucio, to put a recruitment strategy in place.

“The key is finding the right people,” Chris told GiftsandHome.net.  “We will begin with appointing around half a dozen people who will collectively form a strong team with the right attitude, good relations with customers and a true appreciation of the products.”
