For The Love Of The North Opens In Spanish City

Following the recent re-opening of regenerated Spanish City in Whitley Bay, husband and wife Lucy and Paul Hull have opened a fourth For The Love Of The North gift shop in the famous landmark building that is a focal point for locals wanting a day out.

“Opening in Spanish City taps into or love of the city,” Paul told GiftsandHome.net. “We believe that people want to shop local and to support independents.”

The couple started out with an online shop in 2017 and opened their first bricks and mortar shop in their home town of Whitley Bay three months later. The following year, a second outlet followed as a pop up shop in a shipping container in The Stack, Newcastle, with a third For The Love Of The North opening in Corbridge earlier this year.

“We now have four physical shops selling North East gifts, prints and cards which are sourced from over 75 creatives who live and work in the North East of England,” Lucy confirms. “Everything we sell is quirky and represents the North East in some way.”

For The Love Of The North was recently named as one of the 25 Best Small Shops in the UK, receiving a Commended certificate at an Awards event held at the House of Commons last week.
