Celebrating 70 Years

The Harrogate Christmas & Gift show is celebrating its 70th anniversary at the Harrogate Convention Centre from January 12-15, with show organiser Simon Anslow commenting:  “It’s incredible to think that a trade show can still be going strong after 70 years. It’s a testament to the gift industry and its ability to adapt and evolve over the decades. We started out with the toy industry in 1949 and have evolved to feature festive goods and gifts.”

From Valentine’s and Mother’s Day to Easter, Father’s Day and Halloween, the show has gradually expanded its product sectors over the years to include not only Christmas, but also other key gift giving occasions.

Talking about the different sectors that visitors will find in January, Simon continues: “In 2020, the show will be embracing the celebrations that society enjoys today, from Christmas, Hanukkah and Diwali to occasions that include Halloween, baby showers, birthdays, weddings and civil partnerships. We are such a diverse society, that there is always a good reason to celebrate and buy a gift, and Harrogate Christmas & Gift is the destination for retailers to source those products.”

Ranges on offer this year will include everything from all year round gifts, to homewares, stationery, garden products, floral, toys, novelties, food gifts and greeting cards.

“Over the last decade, the show has seen continued growth in both exhibitor and visitor numbers and we hope that everyone in the industry will help us to continue this trend and join us for 70th anniversary celebrations and drinks at the show this year,” enthuses Simon.
