Following on from a survey to its members, The Giftware Association’s ceo Sarah Ward will be attending a Genesis Initiative meeting at the Bank of England on March 12 to discuss the threats and opportunities to SMEs in the continually changing socio-political climate.

Sarah’s attendance at the meeting will provide an opportunity for the giftware industry to have their views heard on a myriad of relevant topics to include Brexit, importing and exporting and the coronavirus outbreak.

The survey has provided a general snapshot of the companies that responded and their underlying problems. (To see the results of the survey, contact the GA Team on enquiries@ga-uk.org).

Along with The Giftware Association, other trade associations who are invited to attend Genesis Initiative meeting include the Greeting Card Association (GCA).

Currently, there are 5.7m SMEs in the UK which account for over 99% of private sector firms and 60% of total UK private sector employment. SMEs also account for 73% of all net private sector job creation in the UK, creating some 2m jobs since 2010.
