The Gift Awards: Just The Ticket

As finalists in The Greats Independent Gift Retailer of the Year – North, Northern Ireland & Scotland category at The Gift Awards, there was huge excitement at Williams of Audlem yesterday (May 5) when the fabulous Gift Awards tickets – designed and produced by The Seed Card Company – arrived.

“Oh wow!! Just received our tickets  to The Gift Awards –  they’re breathtakingly beautiful!” exclaimed owner Judy Evans. “I feel like Cinderella in my shop attire and I can’t wait to go to the ball! Really looking forward to our ‘Grand Day Out’”

Williams of Audlem is currently celebrating its 160th year, with many of the period fixtures and fittings still in place. They include the shop’s till, purchased second hand in the 1890’s by the founder’s son, George Williams, which featured on BBC 1’s The Repair Shop, (series 2, episode 11), as well as several items acquired from online second hand market sites.

The store was founded in 1862 by Eli Williams and has evolved from a drapers and haberdashery store to sell gifts, home and interior accessories, greeting cards and stationery, with Judy, Eli’s great, great granddaughter currently at the helm.

The winners of the inaugural The Gift Awards will be announced at London’s Royal Lancaster hotel on 12 May. At the lavish awards event, both gift product excellence and retail prowess will be recognised and rewarded.
