With many gift indies making a beeline for Rose Made A Thing at last week’s Progressive Greetings Live, the good news is that there will be a gift book add-on from the humorous card publisher that’s guaranteed to be ringing up sales for gift and card retailers in the run up to Christmas.
Founder Rosie Harrison has been working with publishing company HarperCollins to turn her Rosie Made A Thing cards brand into a smart coffee-table book.
“We’ve been asked by customers for a book or collection of our cards for some time now,” Rosie told GiftsandHome.net, “so when the lovely people at HarperCollins called, it seemed like a good time to go for it. Basically, it’s more of our usual nonsense but now it’s published by HarperCollins we feel properly grown up!”
The gift book is called Wine Not? A Book Of Grown-Up Decisions and is a whopping collection of Rosie’s funnies, based on the everyday lives of ordinary people. “We’ve had a lot of fun putting the book together, going back to my very first cards and trying to organise the silliness into coherent chapters,” explains Rosie. “We’re really proud of our little gift book and happy that we can finally shout about it.”
With the launch due on 1 September, retailers can pre-order the book, RRP £9.99, through their wholesaler or direct through HarperCollins.
