Tatty Devine Partners With Frida Kahlo

July 6, on what would have been Frida Kahlo’s 115th birthday, will see a jewellery collection from art jewellers Tatty Devine launched to honour the celebrated, pioneering Mexican artist and feminist icon.

The collection of over 20 pieces includes necklaces, earrings, brooches and pendants, designed in East London and handmade in Kent by Tatty Devine’s all-female team.

“Frida Kahlo has always been one of the most inspiring, important and iconic artists to us both,” commented Tatty Devine co-founders Rosie Wolfenden MBE and Harriet Vine MBE.  “She was unique, which she embraced, embellished and documented. Jewellery mattered to Frida and became part of her visual identity just as we hope this collection will become part of others.”

In recent years, Tatty Devine has also done collections with other icons such as Bowie, Gemma Correll and Amy Winehouse for Fred Perry.

Maria Strid, owner licensing company Art Ask Agency added: “For me, Tatty Devine is an iconic jewellery brand and a very desirable partner for the Frida Kahlo licensing program. We are delighted with this launch.”
