Shrieking Violet Celebrates 20 Year Anniversary

To celebrate the company’s milestone 20th anniversary, award winning jewellery brand Shrieking Violet is planting a tree for every item of jewellery that the company sells this year. In partnership with Ecosia, Shrieking Violet has currently planted 24,418 trees.

In addition, the company is also offering its customers an environmentally conscious glass display packaging made from glass and cork.

“It 20 years since we booked our first trade show and took our unique concept jewellery, handmade with real flowers, from a stall at Camden Market to supplying the trade,” explains co-founders and directors Lash Marash and Jez Goswell.

“We didn’t have instant success at trade shows, but we honed our craft, continuing to make improvements. A few years later we had a stand bustling with new customers writing orders. We have since grown a strong brand with a loyal customer base, and an army of 35k social media followers.”

Interestingly, the idea first came to Lash and Jez at the end of the ‘90s in a field at the Glastonbury festival. “In those days, after a hard night’s dancing, we would head to the stone circle to watch the sun rise up over the site – a truly magical experience,” recalls Lash.

“After spotting a lone daisy shining out of the green pastures, the spark was born to capture these perfect natural wonders and create beautiful jewellery from them, so those fields do have a lot to answer for!”

Shrieking Violet’s jewellery is hand-crafted with sterling silver and tiny flowers which are encapsulated in resin, with Lash explaining: “our head gardener keeps a watchful eye on the flowers, tending them with love – and water – until they reach the perfect size. They are then carefully picked, preserved and arranged into beautiful creations to be worn as jewellery.”

The company’s flower jewellery collections include rose, poppy, forget-me-not, daisy, heather and four-leaf clovers, which are featured in necklaces, pendants, earrings, rings, bracelet, bangles, brooches and cufflinks.

Shrieking Violet is exhibiting at Home & Gift, Harrogate (DP1; Stand D83). The show take place from July 17-July 20.
