Business Hots Up At Harrogate

With today (Wednesday July 20) the last day of Home & Gift in Harrogate, exhibitors across the show have been reporting a steady few days, with Alex Machin, managing director of jewellery and fashion accessories company Hot Tomato enthusing: “It’s been a fantastic show. We’ve been brilliantly supported by our customers and we’re back to 2019 figures.”

It was an upbeat story from Mark Rees, managing director of home fragrancing company Henry & Co, too. “The show has been really positive,” he confirmed “Customers have been excited by what we are doing in terms of our eco credentials and packaging. We’ve launched a brand new range, the Artisan Collection, featuring melts in a pick and mix style with added inclusions.”

“We’ve had a very successful show,” stated Roka London’s sales manager John Lonie. “It’s the fourth time we’ve exhibited our colourful, sustainable bags at Home & Gift, with our latest launch a cross body bag which has been really popular. Both sustainability and colour are extremely important to our customers.”

Among the first time exhibitors at the show has been Gift of the Year Home Fragrance category winner Find Your Glow (FYG). “It’s been great have new eyes on our products,” said owner and founder Demi Pendakis. “We’ve taken on new stockists here at the show, with the potential of a large garden centre and a golf hotel resort. Buyers have been especially interested in our new Seasons candle duo that change fragrances as they burn. One candle reflects the fragrances of Spring/Summer, the other the fragrances of Autumn/Winter. Plus, each comes with a sustainable seeded dust card that can be planted in the garden to grow meadow flowers.”

Also exhibiting for the first time at the show has been Broughton & Beech. “Having done a soft launch over the past 12 months, Home & Gift has been our first trade show, so it’s been very important to us,” confirms founder Richard Wood. “We’re showcasing Julie Dodsworth home fragrancing and bath and body products under licence, to include the new limited edition Angel Wings, as well as the collection from Mr and Mrs Fragrance, which we distribute in the UK and Ireland.”
