St. Eval Wins ‘Most Sustainable Organisation’ Trophy

St. Eval has added yet another accolade to its trophy cabinet. The company has once again been recognised for its excellence in sustainability, winning the Most Sustainable Organisation category at the annual Cornwall Sustainability Awards, hosted by Cornwall Council and business support enterprise Tevi.

The Most Sustainable Organisation award was a new category for 2022, aimed at celebrating businesses that are achieving excellence in all areas of sustainabilityrather than being focused on only one. The company last won at the Cornwall Sustainability Awards in 2015, for Best Managed Medium Business and has since excelled with numerous sustainability-focused initiatives.

“Winning the Most Sustainable Organisation category crowned an amazing year for us, from being in Downing Street representing Cornwall in the Best of British event in late Spring, to receiving our Queen’s Award for Sustainable Development in June. And, of course, one of our proudest moments was being awarded our B Corp certification in the Autumn,” stated St. Eval’s ceo Ian Greaves.

“It’s lovely that the St. Eval teams’ hard work to keep putting people and planet at the heart of all we do is recognised in this way, and it’s a truly fantastic way to end the year with a Cornish award!”

Initiatives such as eliminating single-use plastic, renewable energy expansion and a roadmap to net zero led St. Eval’s excellence in sustainability to be recognised with a 2021 Queen’s Award for Enterprise in Sustainable Development and recently becoming a certified B Corporation. These awards, alongside their 2022 Cornwall Sustainability Award, emphasise the company’s commitment to building a sustainable business model and using business as a force for good.

The company, founded in 1993, is based on a farm in St Eval, near Newquay. From humble beginnings as a small family operation, St. Eval now employs over 50 people with its products – candles, home fragrance and natural body care – sold globally.
