Shop Kind Campaign Aims To Protect Shopworkers From Violence And Abuse

The ongoing issue of shoplifting is continuing to escalate this year, with the ShopKind campaign uniting the retail sector to tackle violence and abuse against shopworkers by asking people to ShopKind when in stores.

The aim of the campaign is to:

  • Encourage positive behaviour in shops
  • Acknowledge the important role of shopworkers
  • Highlight the scale and impact of violence and abuse against shopworkers

“We work closely with our colleagues at the Independent Retailers Confederation, (IRC), discussing the issues affecting indie retailers across the country, sharing ideas, support and, importantly, raising these issues with government as the small business minister, Kevin Hollinrake, attends our meetings quarterly,” explains Amanda Fergusson, ceo of the Greeting Card Association (GCA).

“We’re keen to ensure that everyone knows about the ShopKind campaign, as this is an issue that many on the high street are facing including our retail members,”

All retailers, to include gift retailers, are being encouraged to download the print and social media campaign materials and use them in their stores.
