Winner Of The Gift Of The Year’s People’s Choice Award Revealed

For the second consecutive year, Fox Under The Moon was crowned the winner of the Gift of the Year People’s Choice award yesterday, this time around for the company’s ‘One Step at A Time’ greeting card range.  The news was revealed at the Harrogate Home & Gift Sundowners party, sponsored by Progressive Gifts & Home, at the end of the first day of the show (21 July). All shortlisted companies, finalists, and winners were eligible, with 2024 marking the fourth year that the award has been presented.

“I can’t believe we have been fortunate enough to win The People’s Choice Awards two years running,” Fox Under The Moon’s owner Stacey McNeill enthused. “Winning the Gift of the Year People’s Choice Award in 2023 really put us on the map. It was the jumping-off point for us being noticed and taken more seriously in the trade world. This award reflects the personal connection I have with our customers, and it’s been an incredible 12 months for us.”

Voted for by the public, the company received 12% of the votes, with Sarah Ward, ceo of The Giftware Association, presenting the award to the winners. “A huge congratulations to Fox Under The Moon’s Stacey and Jamie McNeill for showing us all how important their relationship is with the consumer by taking home the People’s Choice Award 2024 once again.”

3-Peoples Choice LogoExplained Sarah: “The top three brands fought right up until the closing date of the competition, which led us to the decision to award two Highly Commended brands for the first time, with Beevive and The Little Dog Laughed recognised for both achieving almost 8% each of the overall votes.”

Before announcing the winner, Sarah commented: “I’m honoured to stand before you to celebrate innovation, creativity, and the incredible passion that drives our industry and to recognise the extraordinary achievements of brands that have truly captured the hearts and minds of the public.

“The People’s Choice Award is a testament to the power of connection between brands and consumers, and this year, that connection has been stronger than ever. Over 8,000 votes were cast by the public, demonstrating their engagement and enthusiasm in these challenging economic times. It is a powerful reminder of the value of creating a platform where brands can directly interact with their consumers, and the impact such engagement can have.”

Continued Sarah: “We witnessed some incredible, creative, and impassioned campaigns from our shortlisted companies. Their dedication not only to their products, but also to their customers, has been inspiring. These campaigns showcased the ingenuity and resilience that define our industry, even in the face of economic adversity.”

Sarah added that, this year, the GA had observed several key trends in giftware and retail that underscore the evolving landscape of our market. “Personalisationcontinues to be a significant driver, with consumers seeking unique and meaningful gifts that resonate on a personal level. Sustainability has also taken centre stage, with an increasing demand for eco-friendly and ethically produced products. Moreover, the integration of technology in retail, from online shopping experiences to augmented reality, has revolutionised how consumers discover and purchase gifts. Being part of The Giftware Association offers invaluable support and opportunities in navigating these trends. A heartfelt thank you to all our members and the shortlisted Gift of the Year brands. Your contributions and excellence are what make this event so special.”

The evening also marked the official launch of Gift of the Year 2025. “This is your opportunity to showcase your brand and products to an esteemed panel of over 100 judges. Don’t miss this chance to elevate your brand and gain the recognition you deserve,” stated Sarah.
