Talking Tables Launches Its Spring/Summer Collection

Talking Tables is continuing its sustainability journey with the company’s Spring/Summer collection, featuring significant strides into reusability and recycled materials.

For Spring/Summer, 70% of packaging is made from recycled materials as are all paper napkins, excluding a small number of die-cut styles. And after working with recycled fabric offcuts for Christmas 2023, this season sees the introduction of recycled plastic bunting and oversized tote bags. “Only 9% of plastic ever produced has been recycled. Talking Tables intends to do our part to help turn this around,” comments Talking Tables’ founder Clare Harris.

The moves are supported by customer research, suggesting growing awareness of sustainability issues and the B Corp movement (Talking Tables was certified as a B Corp company in September 2022).

Many of the initiatives centre on Talking Tables’ new launch for the season titled Bon Appetit. The collection reflects the growing propensity for both more relaxed dining and a fusion of al fresco and indoor hosting trends.

“Bon Appetit channels the trend for bringing bistro style living into the home,” explains Talking Tables’ senior designer Melanie Watt. “It reflects a low key approach to entertaining at home, of serving fresh good quality food rather than a formal three course cooked meal. We playfully focused on those fruit and vegetables in our designs, adding gingham for a relaxed café and picnic vibe.”

The collection centres around enamel plates, bowls and candle holders and follows a successful season of decorative enamel pieces for Spring/Summer 23. There are also cotton gingham tables cloths and dual purpose napkins-come-tea towels.
