British Garden Centres Continues To Expand Its Portfolio

British Garden Centres has confirmed the acquisition of Dobbies Rugby, further expanding the family-run business. The news comes at the same time as the group exchanges on the lease of the Dobbies Northampton site. These additions bring the total number of BGC centres to 72.

Both locations are highly regarded within their communities, with British Garden Centres looks forward to working with the existing centre teams to build on the strong foundations already in place.

Rugby Garden Centre is expected to open in March as the team works to reset and stock the site, with Northampton following suit once the acquisition is complete.

Charles Stubbs, founder and director of British Garden Centres, commented: “These acquisitions represent a significant step forward in our continued growth and reinforce our commitment to becoming the leading garden centre group in the UK. We’re delighted to welcome both teams to the British Garden Centres family. By integrating these centres into our portfolio, we aim to expand our customer base and provide even more growth opportunities.”

British Garden Centres (BGC) is the UK’s largest family-owned garden centre group, owned and led by The Stubbs family, who also own and operate Woodthorpe Leisure Park in Lincolnshire.
