A ‘Greats’ Opportunity: “Winning Was Such An Incredible Thrill!”

Kieron Cockley, co-owner of Brocante in Fowey, Mevagissey and St Ives, tells GiftsandHome.net what it meant to win a Greats trophy last year.

Kieron, how did it feel when you heard Brocante’s name called out as the winner of 2018’s The Greats’ Independent Gift Retailer of the Year – South West?

“Just being nominated for The Greats Independent Gift Retailer of the Year – South West category felt like a tremendous achievement after 12 years of trading. However, winning was such an incredible thrill, not just for my partner David Lorimer and myself, but also our team who couldn’t wait to celebrate! The day was made even more special as we had some of our team with us. They are the key to the success of Brocante.”

How did you feel when you arrived at the Awards, held at the Grosvenor House in London’s Park Lane?  It must have been a nail-biting moment!

“It was! The excitement definitely increased when we got to the Grosvenor House, as we were able to fully appreciate the standard of entrants across the board.”

Did the local media pick up on your success?

“Yes, the local papers and websites were all very keen to get a few words from us, which has had a positive effect on the business. Also our customers enjoyed popping in to say well done!”
