For The Hollies in Little Budworth, mid Cheshire – a destination outlet that spans The Barn gift shop, the newly opened Living Store and The Hollies Farm Shop – Christmas is always the most magical time of the year, with a hugely successful A Taste of Christmas event held on Tuesday (December 3) attracting not just locals but visitors travelling from Liverpool, Manchester and Chester spanning a 40-50 miles radius.
“As people arrived we offered them mulled wine and Christmas cake,” explains Ed. “There was a singer singing Christmas songs, with people singing along and children dancing. There were two donkeys outside the Farm Shop where we held a very successful Christmas food and drink tasting spanning everything from unusual cheeses and sausage rolls to lots of fizz and cake. With hundreds of people visiting on the day, there was a really great buzz around the place.”
In fact, The Hollies officially launched Christmas on October 8. “We closed our gift shop The Barn for four days so that we could get everything ready,” continues Ed. “We dressed our Christmas shop, and our newly opened the Living Store, as well as our Farm Shop, putting a great deal of effort into making the shops, and The Hollies, look as fabulous as possible. We’re open seven days a week and hold lots of events right up until December 25, giving people every reason to visit us across the different areas of the business.”
Adds Ed: “With customers constantly wanting to see newness, getting the ranges right, and getting the season underway is incredibly important to us, so each year, we challenge ourselves to come up with something exciting and different.”
