Ambiente Moves To April 2021

For many retailers, both in the UK and internationally, February’s Ambiente is a ‘must attend’, highly anticipated gift and housewares event on the European trade show calendar. But due to the pandemic and continuing travel restrictions, organisers Messe Frankfurt believe a later date in April 2021 offers both exhibitors and visitors greater planning safety.

Ambiente, Christmasworld and Paperworld will therefore be held as a one-off hybrid event, named the International Consumer Goods Show – Special Edition, which will be held from 17-20 April 2021 at Messe Frankfurt in Frankfurt am Main.

For the first time, the new live trade fair will be flanked by the digital offerings of Consumer Goods Digital Days, which will run concurrently with the show.

“The trend-oriented order cycles of the consumer goods industry require an annual event at the beginning of the year,” states  Stephan Kurzawski, member of the Management of Messe Frankfurt Exhibition. “The merging of Ambiente, Christmasworld and Paperworld at the new time, under the name of International Consumer Goods Show – Special Edition, offers all participants the opportunity for business meetings, ordering and networking in Frankfurt.”

The Consumer Goods Digital Days will offer matchmaking, live streaming and knowledge transfer, giving exhibitors and visitors the opportunity to network, find inspiration and place orders directly parallel to, and beyond, the live event.

Additionally, Messe Frankfurt’s B2B marketplace Nextrade, specifically for the home and living industry, will add virtual showrooms for the product segments of Ambiente, Christmasworld and Creativeworld.

“It is important for our customers that we make a decision at an early date, as otherwise, it would be time for them to begin investing in their trade fair presentations,” explained Wolfgang MarzinMesse Frankfurt’s president and chief executive officer. He confirmed: “Messe Frankfurt will continue working closely with its customers to ensure that its decisions serve the interests of the exhibiting industries.”

Messe Frankfurt will not be holding any of its own physical trade fairs at the Frankfurt Messe between January and March 2021.
