Bean Hive’s Jungle Boogie Birthday Party

There’s going to be lots of fun happening at The Bean Hive in Kettering on Saturday September 4. The shop, which celebrates its third anniversary today (September 1), will be celebrating in Bean Hive style with a Jungle Boogie birthday party, and plenty of cake and fizz for customers to tuck into, along with prizes to be won. “Our celebration is a massive ‘thank you to all of our wonderful staff, traders and customers!” enthuses owner Davina (Bean) Parkhouse.

In fact, recent visitors to the shop may have noticed some colourful additions to The Bean Hive’s exterior, created by local artist Cathy Matthews.   “The artwork includes our angel wings and mini wings which are perfect for an Instagram pose and jungle inspired murals,” explains Davina. “However, the pièce de résistance is Deborah the Zebra which will be jumping out of the wall in time for the celebrations. After the 18 months we’ve all had, we thought we would brighten up the town and give everyone something to smile about.”

Adds Davina: “Despite the challenges, we’re thriving once again thanks to our loyal customers and amazing traders.  Financially it has been like starting again, but with a much improved shop, better stock, a website and fabulous new artwork. The footfall and sales this summer have been amazing and we are again hopeful for the future.”

The Bean Hive, which has a second store in Falmouth, is a Greats Awards 2021 finalist, and was recently delighted to win the Best Gift Shop category of the Northamptonshire Muddy Stilettos Awards.  The shop is also a finalist in the local Kettering Business Awards.
