Bill Nettelfield, owner of Bill & Bert’s in Colchester – crowned winner of the London, the South, South East, and East Anglia at the Greats Gift Retail Awards in May – celebrated the shop’s fifth anniversary on 1 August with a five-day sale.
“We held a party every day for five days, with lots of prosecco – and bargains – for customers,” said owner Bill Nettelfield.

“We opened in August 2019 and trade took off straight away,” he continued. “We doubled the size of the shop in 2022 and haven’t looked back, with people travelling from Ipswich, Northampton, Luton, and Cambridgeshire to come and shop with us.”
Bill’s thoughts are now turning to Halloween, with product already in a store.Earlier in the year, as a well-known Jellycat retailer, Bill & Bert’s was the first port of call to receive Jellycat’s huge Jack when it was sent out on a world tour. “Customers travelled from all over the UK to have their photos taken with him,” said Bill.
