Celebrating 100 Years

One hundred years and four generations on, Joe Davies is among the best known and most successful importers and distributors in the gift industry, evolving from the company’s early days of selling hearth furniture to offering a vast array of over 11,000 gift products that include jewellery, fashion accessories, photo frames, festive and much more besides.

To celebrate their centenary, the company is inviting customers – both old and new – friends and suppliers, to join them on their stand at Spring Fair (Hall 5 D50/E51) on Monday February 4at 6pm.  Drinks and refreshments will be served.

Reflecting on the company’s success over the decades, managing director Steve Davies told GiftsandHome.net: “We’ve always been a bit different because of our Little & Often policy as it’s given us a point of difference in the market. We’ve also been lucky enough to find and develop some incredible products over the years and our range has grown to include over 11,000 gift items, 5,000 of which are new every year. This gives our customers a huge opportunity to select across a broad range of attractive, well priced up-to-date gifts and has given us a real market edge over the years.”

Looking to the next decade, Steve, and the company’s chairman, Peter Davies, remain optimistic about the future. “Over the last 100 years, Joe Davies has mirrored the history of the gift industry. The family business has come through two world wars, numerous recessions, a bank crash and massive social change. So, whatever the future brings, we will be ready,” confirms Steve. “We’ll continue to do what we have always done, growing the business by selling great products and putting our customers at the heart of everything we do.”
