Forget Me Not, originally owned by Margaret and the late Don Heyler, first opened its doors in 1998. The couple were joined by their daughter Louise Prydderch, who is now the proud owner of the gift and card shop, along with home boutique Lulu Loves which is situated nextdoor.

What are you doing to celebrate?

“We’re planning an array of special events which includes currently offering 20% off a £20 spend. Next month we will also be giving out raffle tickets to anyone who shops with us, and will be making the draw and announcing a winner and two runners-up in early January. The winner will receive a giant sized Pot of Dreams, which we will fill with cash, and the two runners-up will each receive a hamper.”

What have been the most important highlights for Forget Me Not over the past two decades?

“Relaunching and rebranding Forget Me Not in 2011 which was a really special, memorable day. Later that year, we won our first Reta’s award as Best Independent Greeting Card shop in the South. Subsequently, Forget Me Not also won a Greats award as Best Independent Gift Retailer Home Counties, South & South East in 2015. As you can imagine, we couldn’t have been more thrilled.”

So what exciting plans are in the pipeline for Forget Me Not over the coming year?

“We’re hoping to do another rebrand and refresh in 2019. Other than that, we intend to redouble our efforts to continue doing what we do, and to always make sure that the Forget Me Not looks fresh and interesting.”
