A new year sees a new milestone for Enesco to celebrate – the company’s 25th anniversary. Having purchased Lilliput Lane and Border Fine Arts the company was registered as Enesco European Giftware Group in January 1994, with both companies joining forces and moving to headquarters in Carlisle that remains Enesco’s home today.
“Back then, at the start of our story, it was the height of the collectables era, with names such as Cherished Teddies, Lilliput Lane and Border Fine Arts as part of our portfolio,” recalls director of marketing Helen Cottrill, who celebrated her own milestone 25th year with the company in 2018.
Continues Helen: “The company has evolved so much over the years, changing to meet market needs both with product and marketing. When I joined I had a typewriter! Now we have multiple social media pages, websites, iPads to sell from, laptops and dual screens,” she told GiftsandHome.net.
She adds that while times may have changed, the narrative around Enesco’s vision and values has not. “We’re still the leaders in both classic and contemporary collectables as well as the gift-giving market, with our portfolio expanding to include licensed products from big name brands such as Disney, Beatrix Potter and Peppa Pig. We also have the exclusive distribution of Gund, Willow Tree and, brand new for 2019, LIHIT Lab. We look forward to the next chapter in the history of Enesco and being the number one at delivering gift giving all wrapped up in the UK.”
