Fenwick Closes Standalone York Gift Shop

Following a recent decision to centralise its buying operation, Fenwick has closed its standalone gift shop in York’s Coppergate Centre which opened four years ago.

The shop, which was adjacent to the main Fenwick store, sold gifts, fashion accessories and greeting cards, with products moving across to the department store itself.

Seven employees have been made redundant, adding to the 400 jobs lost due to the move to centralised buying.

In addition to York, department stores in the Fenwick group can be found in Newcastle, London’s Bond Street, Bracknell, Brent Cross, Canterbury, Colchester, Kingston and Tunbridge Wells.
