Floss & Rock was recognised with a prestigious King’s Award for Enterprise, a commendation for the company’s excellence in International Trade, with the Lord-Lieutenant, her party, the Mayor of Fylde and Consort, recently attending the company’s Blackpool office to present the official award.
“It was a huge honour to welcome the Lord-Lieutenant and her party into the office,” comments co-founder and managing director Tim Hislop. “This award reflects the huge efforts our entire team has made, especially over the past six years, to grow our sales network across the world in spite of many challenges – including a global pandemic and international war. This presentation was a brilliant opportunity to introduce the team to the Lord-Lieutenant and her party, an acknowledgement for all the hard work that’s led us to this incredible accolade.”
The company is an international children’s toy brand that manufactures and distributes unique gifts and toys for children primarily aged two to ten. Employing 19 people, Floss & Rock was formed in 2016 by husband and wife team Tim Hislop and Gill Stratton.
Designed in the land of candy ‘Floss’ and sticks of ‘Rock’ beside the seaside, Floss & Rock, based in Blackpool, puts creativity at the core of the business with both owners passionate about outstanding design, quality and eco-friendly attributes.
Previously known as The Queen’s Awards for Enterprise, the new name reflects HM The King’s desire to continue the legacy of HM Queen Elizabeth II’s by recognising outstanding UK businesses. The Award programme, now in its 57th year, is the most prestigious business award in the country, with successful businesses able to use the esteemed King’s Awards emblem for the next five years.
