Multi-award winning Libby Holden is the owner of Lovely Libby’s in Rayleigh, and co-owner of The Olive Tree in Billericay. Speaking to Progressive Gifts & Home, Libby shares how she approached her buying for this year’s Halloween, and reveals her predicted best sellers.
“For the first time, we opted for more gimmicky décor ranges. We’ve always played it safe with Halloween decorations in previous years, opting towards more interior friendly and aesthetic pieces. However, this year at the shows, we found that pretty much every company was embracing the spooky season in its entirety, with ghosts, ghouls and witches around every corner – with witches definitely a key theme for us this year,” she states.
“My favourites are the range we sourced from Langs. Complete with a pointy nose and a broomstick, I’ve got a feeling they’re set to be this year’s best seller – although, our range from Giftware Trading is giving the witches a run for their money! Their ceramic range of smiling pumpkins and ghosts last year were by far the most popular pieces in our autumn collection, so we were delighted when we saw they’d expanded this range while ordering at Spring Fair. The newest edition is a little googly eyed hanging spider, one of which has already come home with me!”
Adds Libby: “I’m pleased to say that our Halloween sales are going from strength to strength but with the cost of living crisis and economic struggles we will have to wait until the day itself, on October 31, to wait and see.”
