B2B marketplace Ankorstore, based in Paris, has announced its rebranding under a two-word manifesto, Rewild Retail, which will continue to connect independent retailers and brands.
Pierre-Louis Lacoste, former retailer and Ankorstore co-founder, explains: “We understand what our community needs because we were once where they are. We are on a mission to rewild the retail industry, with all our retail and e-commerce expertise and passion, but we also need the end consumer to go back to the local shops.”
He continued: “We are not only an online marketplace, we want to restore customers’ behaviours that have shifted to a full online approach, forgetting the beauty and importance of local shopping. We want to kick off a global Rewild Retail movement to trigger a mutually beneficial paradigm shift where everyone feels part of it and has its role to play. We want to restore and rebuild, not disrupt.”
Ankorstore, which works with 250,000 retailers and 20,000 brands across Europe, has also announced the launch of its Rewards Programme, an initiative that increases a retailer’s margin when they buy from multiple brands.
Explains Nicolas D’Audiffret, co-ceo and co-founder: “We want to give retailers the possibility to stay agile and adapt to the market needs, especially in these uncertain times. Discounts are usually given on volume but we decided to do things differently. Our Reward Programme makes it possible for retailers to get the best margins by buying more brands instead of more volume. Brand discovery and diversity in their product offering is key, so we have adapted our business model accordingly and subsequently created a paradigm shift in the world of retail.”
Founded in 2019 as one of the first online marketplaces that connect brands and creators with shops all over Europe, the company aims to simplify brand distribution, and has five categories – home and living – which includes gifts and stationery – kids, beauty, fashion and grocery. The platform is dedicated to enabling independent retailers to thrive by finding new and different suppliers,
In addition, Ankorstore is also one of a strong line-up of companies backing The Gift Awards.
“We’re thrilled to be a category sponsor for The Gift Awards this year, celebrating the proudest achievements within the gifting industry across product and retail,” states Jina Kwon, country manager for Ankorstore UK. “As a champion for small brands and independent sellers, it’s brilliant to see their efforts recognised on such an important night for the industry that dates back decades. We can’t wait to see what the evening brings and want to congratulate the finalists for making it this far!”
The winners of the inaugural The Gift Awards will be announced at London’s Royal Lancaster hotel on 12 May. At the lavish awards event, both gift product excellence and retail prowess will be recognised and rewarded.
