Among the many gift retailers celebrating the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee last week was Aga Marsden, owner of Highworth Emporium in Highworth. The shop, well known locally for its bespoke balloon service for special occasions, went the extra mile for the Jubilee, creating a statement 4.5 x 2.5m red, white and blue Union Jack flag outside the shop featuring 300 balloons.
“The response we had was amazing,” Aga told GiftsandHome.net. “We had BBC Radio Wiltshire, the Swindon Advertiser and a local magazine coming to the shop to interview us and to take photos. We also received numerous compliments from customers, as well as on social media. People were amazed, and it was wonderful to see the joy on their faces!”
Added Aga: “Tenants living in the three apartments located above our shop said they had never seen Highworth town centre so busy, with people coming into the town specifically to take a photo of the flag outside our shop. And while it was important for us to decorate the shop properly for the Jubilee, we also wanted to give something back to the community – and our Highworth and Swindon customers – all of whom have long supported us, especially over last two years.”
