Giftware Brand Saved From Closure

Having announced last year that he would be retiring this summer, and selling giftware retail outlet Goviers of Sidmouth – which first opened its doors n 1904 – Alan Moregenroth has sold the business to Simon and Janet Willis, owners of Global Luxury Brands (GLB) which specialises in bespoke luxury products. The new owners will be concentrating on the mail order and catalogue side of Govier

The two men first met as employees of Royal Crown Derby in the ‘90s.“When the business was put up for sale it was something we felt destined to pursue,” Simon told StokeonTrentLive.

“Having worked with Alan for more than 20 years we felt it was an opportunity too good to miss. We very much want to carry on the business in the style that has made Goviers what it is today, but we will try to inject new ranges where appropriate. We want to grow the Goviers business by increasing its online presence and putting more products onto the website.”

Both businesses will operate under their existing names and will remain two separate entities.
