Helen Cottrill Launches Marketing And Brand Consultancy

Helen Cottrill, formerly marketing and product director at Enesco, has launched her own independent marketing and brand consultancy, The Cabin at No.1, with news of a consultancy deal with Blade and Rose, the multi-award-winning children’s gift clothing company.

As part of the agreement, Helen will be supporting the Blade and Rose team with its B2B and trade business development strategies. Commenting on her first signing, Helen said: “I have long admired the brand and look forward to really getting to know the company and the team.”

Helen has a proven track record of delivering impactful marketing strategies and campaigns to brands in the home and giftware sector, with an impressive CV that spans more than three decades. She attended her first Spring Fair at the age of 17, joining Enesco in 1993 as  PA to the sales director.

She spent the next 30 years progressing through the company, with roles including product manager, most recently heading up a 19 strong team as marketing and product director, responsible for licensing, product development, marketing, sourcing, compliance and sustainability.

While working with big brand names and impressive licencing agreements across the gift and homeware sectors for the past 35 years has been the foundation of Helen’s career to date, now, with the freedom and flexibility to explore her skills further, Helen is also looking to support smaller organisations closer to her home in Langholm and the surrounding areas of the Scottish Borders in place, destination and tourism campaigns, helping smaller businesses  and charities, to grow through expert marketing and strategic direction.

“Giftware will always have a very special place in my heart – it’s what I’ve built my career on and is a genuine love of mine,” comments Helen. “So as well as supporting clients in the home and giftware sector, I’m also planning on creating a hub of giftware reviews on my website and social media channels when they launch.  I am happy to take on all projects, large or small, from marketing campaigns and solutions to trade fair planning and execution.”
