Helping To Raise £500 For Macmillan Cancer Support

Having lost family, friends and colleagues to cancer, Enesco’s marketing director Helen Cottrill, together with her best friend Caroline (an ex-Enesco employee), will be taking part in the Ullswater Mighty Hike on June 19, helping to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support. The marathon covers 26.1 miles around the hills surrounding Ullswater in the Lake District.

“Caroline and I have been friends for almost 30 years, and during this time we both lost family, friends and colleagues to cancer, so we are doing this in their memory,” explains Helen.  “In 2019, a very dear friend lost her twin sister to ovarian cancer and as a result we signed up to the Mighty Hike.

Continued Helen: “With the 2020 hike cancelled we are committed to the 2021 hike on June 19. Training has started now that Covid restrictions are a little less prohibitive, and we will share our training journey. Please donate or help us by holding your own fundraiser such as a bake sale or mowing someone’s lawn. Every little helps as we have committed to raising £500 for Macmillan.”

The event starts in the ground at Dalemain House with the route following the Ullswater Way, with stunning views across Ullswater Lake.
