Hong Kong Gifts & Premium Fair Unveils A New Sector

The Hong Kong Gifts & Premium Fair, which took place at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre from April 27-30, showcased product from over 4,300 exhibitors, providing a one-stop marketing and sourcing platform for visitors. The fair, arguably the largest show of its kind in the world, is renowned for its international appeal, with pavilions from the UK, Italy, Chinese mainland, Taiwan, Macau, Japan, Korea and Thailand.

This year, a brand new section was added – the World of Camping & Outdoor Goods – linking in with global events that include the FIFA World Cup, the Asian Games and the Winter Olympics. There was also a renewed focus on wellbeing and healthy living.

Returning were themed areas to include the Hall of Fine Designs and the World of Gift Ideas, both featuring creative, trend-setting designs, along with lifestyle Luxury Gifts. Elsewhere, the Fashion Accessories zone showcased handbags and fashion jewellery, hair ornaments and sunglasses. Other popular product zones included Licensed Gifts, Tech Gifts, Fine Porcelain Gifts, Advertising Gifts & Premium, and Party & Festive Items.

For buyers who were looking to spot the next big thing, the Startup Zone, introduced last year, featured new entrepreneurs, with Smart Launch sessions held during the show to enable exhibitors to introduce their products and business ideas to industry players.

In addition, the Hong Kong Exporters’ Association had its own pavilion showcasing local enterprises at three major zones: Smart Design Village, Isle of Originality and Brand Oasis.

Co-located with the show was the Hong Kong International Printing & Packaging Fair, which took place at AsiaWorld-Expo, offering expanded sourcing opportunities for gift and premium buyers.
