Hot, Hot, Hot In Harrogate

It was a sizzling start to Home & Gift in Harrogate yesterday (Sunday July 17) with visitors queuing to get into the show, and exhibitors delighted to see buyers out in force.

“Home & Gift is our first trade show for three years, and we were overrun with customers from the off, with buyers thrilled to see us back,” said Stoneglow’s international sales manager Curtis Simmons.

It was also a busy day for Vanessa Curry, managing director of Best Kept Secrets. “We saw lots of new customers,” she confirmed. “Our rebranded Christmas Elegance collection went down a storm.”

Also delighted with business yesterday was Kristan Tyler, sales director of Steepletone. “We had a fantastic first day,” he confirmed. “It was lovely to be back and to be celebrating our 50th anniversary. There was huge interest in our re-chargeable Bright Ideas collection of lamps, which feature light-up messages. We’re really looking forward to the next few days.”

Added The Giftware Associations’ ceo Sarah Ward: “I’ve walked every aisle, and in every Design Point marquee and hall there are so many gems to be discovered.”

Gift retailer Janet Hartree, owner of Ewe & Me in Grantown-on-Spey, enthused that it was great to be in Harrogate. “Home & Gift is my favourite show, and it was wonderful to see companies such as Carrie Elspeth, among others, exhibiting again this year.”
