International Consumer Goods Show Cancelled

The International Consumer Goods Show, which was scheduled for Aprill 2021 –  a hybrid event comprising Ambiente, Christmasworld, Paperworld and Creativeworld – has been cancelled. Instead, organisers Messe Frankfurt have confirmed that the shows will revert to their previous format and will take place individually next year.

Christmasworld will be held from 28 January-1 February 2022, and Paperworld and Creativeworld from 29 January-1 February 2022.  Ambiente will be opening its doors from 11-15 February 2022.

In the meantime, a Consumer Goods Digital Day will be held on April 20, 2021, giving suppliers and retailers an opportunity to get together, and will be supplemented by Nextrade, an order and data management portal for the home and living sector.

With no end to the pandemic in sight, and with events effectively banned in Germany, coupled with ongoing international travel restrictions, Messe Frankfurt explained that it had been impossible to make plans.

“In light of the current situation, it would not be possible for us to satisfy our customers’ requirements for international trade fairs in April or May,” confirmed Detlef Braun, member of the executive board of Messe Frankfurt.   “However, the ongoing shutdown of retailers in our visitor countries has made relevant up-to-date information and solutions essential, and we are satisfying this demand with digital offerings during this volatile time.”

He added: “We are continuing to do everything in our power to make safe and successful trade fairs possible, because nothing can take the place of face-to-face encounters.”
