International Visitors Soar At Ambiente

Messe Frankfurt, the organisers of Ambiente, which closed its doors on February 12, have confirmed that there was a significant rise in visitor numbers at this year’s show, with 136,000 trade visitors attending the exhibition from some 166 countries.

The top ten visiting nations, after Germany, were Italy, China, France and the UK, followed by the Netherlands, the USA, Spain, Switzerland, Russia and South Korea.

Outstanding increases in visitors were recorded, with a significant increase in visitors from the UK and across Europe, as well as from South America and Asia.

“During Ambiente, we could feel the hustle and bustle of world trade, even though there are signs of a downturn in the economic outlook,” commented Detlef Braun, a member of the executive board of Messe Frankfurt. “Using Ambiente as a trading hub, international consumer goods manufacturers target both local and regional markets all over the world. The signals are therefore set for 2019 and beyond, impressively borne out by the number of orders and the quality of both German and international buyers.”

Among the UK companies exhibiting at this year’s show were Portmeirion Group, Dunoon, Denby, KitchenCraft, Creative Tops, Rex London, SIL/Temerity Jones, Price’s Candles, Tom Dixon and Chilly’s Bottles.
