It’s ‘Great’ To Talk

To the delight of Greats winner Aga Gabrysiak, co-owner of Highworth Emporium in Highworth, opportunity knocked not once but twice when Swindon 105.5 community radio came calling.

“A few weeks before The Greats Awards, we were invited to join Verity Manners on her weekly radio program Roundabout Swindon to talk about being chosen as a finalist,” explains Aga. “Unfortunately, we were not able to make it then due to various commitments, but Verity was recently shopping in our shop and, knowing we has won a Greats Award, invited me to audition again. Fortunately, this time we could and did make it!”

Continued Aga: “Together with my assistant manager Paula Zielinska, we recently joined Verity for an hour long programme which was a really exciting experience.  Verity owns her own business – Wrag Barn Golf Club in Swindon- so it was a nice exchange of our views.

“We both agreed that entering any award is a great time to sum up your business, look at it from a distance and actually be proud of the success you have created. Working hard every day you don’t really have time to stop and think about how great your stuff is, how many great reviews your business has received, how many new customers are coming through your door, how successful your social media activity is and so much more.”

Summing up, Aga highlighted: “We actually skipped quite a few songs to be able to talk through everything. And in the end we agreed we’d do it again before Christmas. I can’t wait!”
