Keel Toys Goes Into The Guinness Book Of Records

Keel Toys, along with The Wyvern School in Ashford, broke the world record for the most people simultaneously hugging a soft toy.

“We achieved 374 hugs up from 261 the previous record,” confirmed Keel Toys’ UK sales director Steve Cox after the record breaking event that took place last Friday (May 11) at 1pm. (At this time, the record is still to be verified by Guinness to set it as an official record).

2-LOVE TO HUG HEADER Hugg'ems“We feel very proud as The Wyvern School is for 260 profoundly challenged children with either physical or learning difficulties,” points out Steve.

Keel Toys donated the toys, which will help raise funds for the school in a year where their strap line is Love to Hug, to coincide with the launch of the company’s Hugg’ems.

The officials were supplied by the Mayor of Ashford, Winston Michael, who has been raising funds to enable the school to purchase a new minibus.

The Mayor also presented Keel Toys with a certificate of achievement commemorating 70 years in business, in addition to assisting the Ashford community.
