Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen Unveils His ‘Llewellington’ Collection At Moda

Among the visitors to Spring Fair/Moda yesterday (Sunday 5 February) was TV personality and designer Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen who was at the show to launch a new collection of colourful wellington boot designs with Lunar.  “I believe that every life should be beautiful, so why not wear wellington boots with a pattern?” stated Laurence.

There are five colourful patterns in the collection, as well as a man’s purple wellington that features a pattern inside. “I used to do commercial patterns based on a licensee’s trend forecasts, but now that we do our own in house 3D renders of patterns that can be superimposed on products it gives me blue sky thinking, allowing me to do what I want to do as a designer,” Laurence told GiftsandHome.net.

He continued: “The consumer market associates me with a particular distinctive design approach, so I now generate the patterns, instead of the licensee, giving them my personality and my look.”

A new series of Channel 4’s Outrageous Homes, presented by Laurence, will be aired this year featuring eccentric home owners.

Spring Fair/Moda will be taking place at the NEC until 4pm on Wednesday 8 February. Visit www.springfair.com
