Maybugs Shortlisted As A High Street Hero At The Small Awards

Gift indie Maybugs, which has gift stores in Bexhill-on-Sea, Eastbourne and Hailsham, is in the running as Britain’s best High Steet Hero business at this year’s Small Awards, organised by Small Business Britain.

“We are over the moon to be shortlisted again for a second year in a row,” enthuses Maybugs co-owner Greg Rose. “It means to world to us to be in the final eight featuring retailers from across the UK.”

The Small Award recognises a strong high street business that has a proven record of contributing towards the success of their street. The shortlisted businesses are all  active members of their community and work to drive footfall to their business and neighbouring businesses, with the award recognising that they are doing something exceptional with their premises.

“The Small Awards is all about celebrating the incredible small business owners who are at the heart of the economy and communities,” says Michelle Ovens CBE, founder of Small Business Britain. “They are an opportunity to recognise and applaud the passion and tenacity of the nation’s small firms, particularly during such turbulent times.  Maybugs should be incredibly proud of being shortlisted for this award and we can’t wait to celebrate with them in May.”

Eleven categories cover everything from sustainability heroes, to digital stars, to long-standing family businesses.

Judged by a panel of industry experts, the winners across all categories, along with the overall winner of Small Business of the Year, will be announced on 18 May 2023, with the awards event held at St Mary’s Church in London.
