My Gifts Trade, among the exhibitors at Exclusively Housewares this week, will be unveiling a new Julie Dodsworth license at Home & Gift, Harrogate, in July. “We will be launching an initial range of tinware and kitchen textiles, with a larger roll out at Top Drawer in September,” explains manging director Paul Connett. Julie Dodsworth joins the company’s existing licensing portfolio which includes Sara Miller London and Heinz.
Meanwhile, new for the company at Exclusively Housewares was Costa Nova from Portugal. The range, which features ceramic bowls and tableware, also includes glassware as well as gift sets.
Other companies at the show launching new giftware included Salter-FKA Brands who previewed a range of decorative porcelain oil diffusers.
Elsewhere, TV presenter Fearne Cotton made a star appearance on the Swan stand where she showcased her new Face of Fearne by Swan collection for the company, to include mugs, which complement her range of kitchen appliances.
Among the trends highlighted for Spring/Summer 2019 by Phil Pond of Scarlet Opus were Clarity, based on a desire to stop, breathe and simplify. “This trend has a super selective style based on feel and function,” he highlighted.
Also coming through for the first half of 2019 will be Eco 2.0, a blending of science, nature and craft. “It’s a new direction for the eco-design movement,” Phil confirmed.
