Paladone Extends Breakdown Plastic Across A Further 257 Products

Paladone marked United Nations’ World Environment Day on June 5 by extending its Breakdown Plastic (BDP) to a further 257 products.

Exactly a year ago, the company was the first in the world to bring BDP – naturally decomposing plastic – to the global gift trade through a range of five egg cups.

The company will now be including the BDP material across an additional 257 products covering a wide range of licences that include Harry Potter, Toy Story, Frozen and Avengers: Endgame. Product categories include torches, lights, keychains, snow globes and money boxes.

BDP product will be marked with the BDP logo on the packaging, while new informative assets are being created for retailers to help explain BDP on their product description pages, such as infographic-style images, new product copy, and informative videos.

Further BDP test results since its initial launch have been impressive, according to Paladone, with visible biodegradation in 45 days. Combined with an overwhelming response from retailers across the globe, increased demand for sustainability among suppliers, and Paladone’s own desire to take steps towards sustainability, the company says I was clear that they needed to roll out BDP plastic to every viable product as quickly as possible.
