PG&H Celebrates The Magazine’s 25th Anniversary

Screen Shot 2018-07-13 at 11.06.20Originally launched to tie-in with Harrogate’s Home & Gift show 25 years ago, this July is an exciting month for Progressive Gifts & Home, as the magazine celebrates its milestone silver anniversary!

Taking a trip down memory lane, PG&H’s editor Sue Marks recalls: “Back in the day, people loved to collect, with many loyal to a brand and desperate to be at the head of the queue to buy numbered limited editions. Collectors clubs too, were in their prime. It was a real heyday for suppliers and retailers.

Fast forward to today, and consumers now have an insatiable appetite for home fragrancing products, with fashion accessories another ‘must have’ for many gift shops.”

Continues Sue: “Over the past 25 years, moving forward successfully has been, and still is, very much about learning to adapt and change, while grasping new opportunities with both hands. Today, gift retailers, once happy to open their doors at 9am and close them again at 5.30pm have had to become technology, social media and marketing savvy, with transactional websites becoming an additional retail outlet for the majority of successful gift shops.”

Alongside PG&H, companies also celebrating 25 years at Home & Gift include Ashleigh & Burwood, Heart of the Country, Paladone and Pintail Candles.
