University Games has purchased gift-led Lagoon Games – specialists in gifts, games, puzzles and books – from the Asmodee Group, with University Games’ president and co-founder Bob Moog confirming that the company plans to keep Lagoon Games “true to its British roots.”
Richard Wells, managing director of University Games UK, added: “The Lagoon product line complements the University Games and Paul Lamond Games ranges. Our sales force has known the Lagoon range for years and is really looking forward to introducing it to our broad base of retailers.”
The company was proposing to commence shipping orders this week for Lagoon from its fulfilment partner, Import Services. All current orders in house have been transferred to University Games.
Lagoon was founded in 1988 and has been a part of the UK gift, book, game and puzzle market since its inception. The company has 175 different lines and specialises in supplying gift shops as well as book stores and garden centres.
The acquisition of Lagoon is the 14th for University Games and the company’s third purchase in the UK.
