Scandi Brand Søstrene Grene Expands Its London Retail Portfolio

Danish homewares and lifestyle retailer, Søstrene Grene, has announced plans to open its next London store at The Chimes in Uxbridge. The store will be opening in time for the busy Christmas period, further expanding the brand’s presence in the Greater London area and joining existing stores on Tottenham Court Road, King’s Cross, Wandsworth, Richmond and Kingston-upon-Thames. 

With over 300+ stores worldwide and expansion currently underway, Søstrene Grene aims to open 100 stores in the UK by 2030 and reach 500 stores globally by 2027.

The new Uxbridge store will offer a curated selection of affordable, Scandi-inspired designs in a wide variety of gifts, homewares, soft furnishings, crafts, furniture, kitchen products and children’s toys, including ‘mini home’ products. Commenting, Mikkel Grene, ceo and o-owner of Søstrene Grene, confirmed that the store will be offering the company’s signature Scandinavian style and hygge experience.

UK joint venture partners, Norma Jacob and Richard Power, who run Søstrene Grene stores across Northern Ireland, Southern England, Scotland and soon to be Wales, are also looking forward to the Uxbridge opening.

The addition of another London location is an obvious choice. Our previous locations in the capital have been extremely successful, and we expect Uxbridge to be no different.”

Søstrene Grene is a family owned Danish retail chain It was founded in 1973 and is now managed by the second generation in Aarhus, Denmark. Mainly run on a joint venture or franchise basis, the chain holds over 300 stores across Europe as well as webshops on 14 markets.
