Secret Santa Secrets

New research by GB Posters has revealed that almost 50% (49.3%) of those surveyed enjoy buying a secret Santa gift for a colleague or family member. However, over a quarter of secret Santa participants struggle to find a suitable present for their giftee, with close to 15% saying that they felt obliged to take part.

“Even a small, low-priced gift can be thoughtful and meaningful to the recipient,” comments Mandi Marks-Adler, founder of gift concierge service, Live for the Present. “This year, hair accessories are really on-trend and don’t have to cost a fortune to update someone’s party look.”

Adds Jade Morris, e-commerce executive at GB Posters: “It might seem like the easiest route to pick up a box of chocolates or a bottle of wine on your next supermarket trip. But when the Christmas party arrives, no-one wants their giftee to have the worst present in the room. Instead, gift givers should choose something a bit more personal and unexpected. It makes the game even more fun if they can’t guess who their secret Santa gift is.”

Top: Some 26% of secret Santa givers have a tough job finding the perfect gift.
