Signing Event Delights Collectors

Last weekend (Saturday November 2), Enesco held a special signing for fans of American artist Jim Shore, which saw collectors queuing for several hours before the event started in order to meet their hero.

Held at Lord Collectables at the Birchgrove Garden Centre in Pinchbeck, Spalding, from 11.30am – 2.30pm, queues started forming from as early as 4.30am!

Some 350 Jim Shore enthusiasts came from as far as France, The Netherlands and from all over the UK, with many driving for over four hours to meet their hero. Several staff from Enesco in Carlisle also supported the event.

Explained Enesco’s marketing manager Aylish Ellwood: “Jim signed non-stop for almost seven hours, speaking to the last person in line for as long as the first person. Friendships were made and stories told as collectors shared stories of their own collections with each other.”

The Global Event exclusive, to celebrate Cinderella’s 70th anniversary in 2020, was available to those who attended.

Over the next two weeks Jim will  stage six more signing events throughout Europe, including Ireland, Disneyland Paris, The Netherlands, Belgium and Germany.

“Our objective is to create consumer excitement about Jim Shore and his collections which includes his own brands – Heartwood Creek and Button & Squeaky – and collaborations such as Disney Traditions, DC Comics , Dr Seuss and the Wizard of Oz,” Aylish highlighted.  “The events help to build a personal connection between Jim Shore and both new and existing consumers.”
